TEHRAN Nosratollah Moslemian, the renowned Iranian artist stood first in the First International Biennial Muslim World Painting Festival followed by painters from Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh.

The jury, including Zahra Rahnavard, Morteza Momayez and Mohammad Ehsaei from Iran, Kalidas Karmakar from Bangladesh and Abdolrahim Sharif from Bahrain, offered a golden statue, certificate of merit, research tour and $5,000 in cash to the winners in a ceremony here on Thursday.

According to an IRNA report, they also offered special prize of the festival, including certificate of merit, golden statue and $2,500 in cash, to Amin al-Seyyed from Palestine.

Artists from 27 Muslim states had taken part in the festival.
